Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has had a bit of a rough start with Ranked Play. Right after its launch, players flooded social media with complaints about cheaters ruining matches. Many shared clips showing hackers completely dominating lobbies, even in high-rank games. It didn’t take long for this frustration to drastically increase.
Players and content creators called out the issues extensively, including several top streamers like Nadeshot. They called the cheating problem the worst it’s ever been in the game. Other professional players and creators jumped in, with similar suggestions and feedback. This left the developers no choice but to address the problem publicly and directly. Thankfully, The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team finally stepped in to explain what’s being done to fix it.
How the RICOCHET Team Plans to Handle Cheaters in Black Ops 6

The RICOCHET team shared a plan to make Ranked Play better. They admitted that a data issue had weakened their anti-cheat systems. That’s been fixed now, and they’ve started adjusting how they detect and target suspicious accounts. They’re also speeding up their Replay Investigations to quickly review reports of cheating.

Before Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched, Activision made a bold claim, stating that they’d ban cheaters within one hour of their first match. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. Ranked Play requires players to win 50 matches before joining, but cheaters are still sneaking in. Many believe they wait until they’ve unlocked Ranked Play to use their tools. Even so, bans aren’t happening as fast as was once promised.
It’s a step in the right direction, but Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fans hope this fix is just the beginning of a larger effort to tackle the cheating problem, and are optimistic that even more bug fixes and improvements will follow.
Despite the rocky start, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players have plenty to look forward to. Season 1 is in full swing, and it’s bringing lots of new content. On December 5, a new Zombies map called Citadelle Des Morts will drop. Fans are hyped for this update as Zombies mode remains one of the most loved features in the franchise, and they love Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s version of it.
The game has faced its challenges, but there’s still hope for a brighter future that would result in some much-needed longevity.
