Insomniac’s Wolverine May Not Be Too Far Away With Dev Tease: “I am as equally eager to show…”

Marvel’s Wolverine was originally revealed in 2021 during a PlayStation Showcase. This sent the gaming community into a frenzy, especially after the success of the Spider-Man franchise. It would make sense for Insomniac Games to feature another iconic superhero. However, the progress has been slower than most fans expected, and the developers are aware of their frustrations.

While the developers haven’t publicly shared any information about the project since the reveal, one developer responded to some fans, which gave them a sliver of hope. Perhaps more details about the upcoming superhero project will be shared sooner than anticipated.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has a bad habit of announcing projects way in advance before ever seeing the light of day, and Marvel’s Wolverine has been at the forefront of this issue. Insomniac Games has struck gold with its original Spider-Man universe by releasing a handful of expansions, a spinoff title centering on Miles Morales, and an amazing sequel for the PlayStation 5.

It has been three years since the developers revealed that the project was in development, and normally, fans would see more of it since then. While the lack of new details has been frustrating, a developer stepped up and acknowledged it by reassuring fans that their patience will be rewarded soon enough.

Aaron Jason Espinoza works as a community manager at Insomniac Games, and he didn’t reveal any specifics as to when fans might hear news. His statement sounds optimistic. Perhaps fans might see new gameplay footage in the next few months before the end of the year, and maybe a release date.
