Keep losing to Clark in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii? It’s okay, so did we. With this guide we’ll tell you the little tips and tricks to make beating Clark in Chapter Two far easier than it ever should have been.
How to Get to Clark’s Boss Fight in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Clark is a character in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii that you’ll have to fight before you can recruit him, and as bosses (or a miniboss really) go, he’s not exactly a walkover.
Before we can even begin to explain how to beat him, first, you need to know how to get to Clark in the game. Set the prerequisite of a bigger crew and better boat by the steward at Madlantis’ Pirate Coliseum, our quest turns to Clark, and how he, a shipwright, can take care of the second of those needs.

Make sure to cook yourself some Bento’s before the fight, as you can consume them to replenish your health from the menu. |
You’ll find him in a Shinobi Sushi restaurant, and as you now know, you’ll need to fight and defeat him before he agrees to help you in your quest – a useful bit of foreshadowing to what will come with other potential crew members in the future.
How to Defeat Clark
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii‘s Clark is no small guy, and his powerful attacks reflect that. When he connects, he’ll take off a significant chunk of your health. Thankfully, unlike Jason Rich in Chapter One, he doesn’t block much, meaning a quick combo of attack and move will give you the upper hand.
In phase one, he’ll be focusing on getting close to you in an attempt to grapple you. He doesn’t tend to miss many of these attempts, so keep on the move and don’t allow him too much time to actually grab you. In short, using the Mad Dog stance, you’ll want to pretend you’re Muhammad Ali. The lack of blocking also means that most of your attacks will land, so don’t worry about that side of things either.

Clark has three health bars, so it can feel like a slog at first, especially on the higher difficulties, but once you’ve removed a bar and a half, a quick time event will occur, and you’ll have to dodge his attack. He’ll ‘power up’, for lack of a better word, indicated by his bright red aura glowing around him. He’s stronger, faster and even more deadly now, but just as uncaring about defense. At this point, you’ll want to use your abilities, heat actions, environmental objects and air-based, juggling combos to really lay the pain on him.
Towards the end of the fight, it’s important to remind you to make use of those Bento’s in your inventory (assuming you cooked some pre-fight), as you’ll be needing them now. Whether it’s the Mad Dog or Sea Dog stance you’re using, hit him the final few times and end up victorious. Once you’ve beaten Clark, you’ll now have the ‘legendary shipwright’ at hand to fix up the Goromaru, as well as be on your way to shortly receiving one of the most unique items in the Like a Dragon franchise.
