Mortal Shell 2 is nearly here, with news of a physical release announced just last week, and now, the EXTREMELY solid and successful Steam Beta being moved over to both PlayStation and XBOX, available right now!
That’s right, with the developer “excited to give console players a chance to see how it runs”, players can jump on their sofas and get invested in the upcoming sequel. With the Open Beta offering a significant chunk of the early game, including the opening Prologue and a small section of the early open world, it’s fair to say it’ll be more than just a taster of what’s in store for us soon.
For those that do venture into the Open Beta, an exclusive reward awaits, which can be used and equipped for your character in the main game. The ‘Flayed Harbinger’, a skin that truly looks horrific in all the best ways, as seen below, can be earned by playing, and taken to the main game.

In even more news, those who are worried about having to replay sections and spoiling the experience will be glad to know that for those players that progress past the Marrow Keep in the Open Beta, they will be able to skip the Prologue in the full release.
Mortal Shell 2 releases on August 20th on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC.
