Digital Extremes, the developers of both Warframe and Soulframe should be celebrating right now, as they’ve just come off a drip-feeding of new information to players of both games, and with fans feverishly waiting for new reveals of the latter, it seemed like the recent dev stream and Twitch code giveaway was an easy win. However, it seems like the otherwise has been proven true.
Soulframe Twitch Stream Fail
With Alpha codes of Soulframe promised to committed attendees to the Soulframe Devstream 7 back on April 25th, many were expecting to be in full swing come the broadcast. Turn up, watch the hour long stream for at least 30 minutes, and then claim a free Alpha code to the game to put it through its initial paces.
Tech issues and confusion followed though, as it seemed far too many players and fans turned up to claim said ‘prize’, and many missed out because of it. Due to the demand, servers faltered and cut out, the 30 minute continual timer reset and chaos ensued as fans grew aggravated at missing out. Or so they thought.

Thankfully, Digital Extremes haven’t buried their heads in the sand, and have instead owned their mistake and issues, and rewarded not only those that missed out, but potentially more people too.
In an email sent out to those who were registered to the stream (shown below), Digital Extremes have not only smoothed over some potential bad PR, but simultaneously increased the amount of players helping them test the game in its earliest version.

With Soulframe taking the form of an MMORPG with a heavy action genre basis, it’s exciting to see what Digital Extremes has in store for us. Whilst it may not be directly linked to Warframe (as far as we know), the lessons learned over the years with that should pay dividends to those that take the fantasy game by the horns, so to speak, and with so many able to experience the Alpha now, we can’t wait to jump in!
Whether you got your code or not from the Twitch stream, be sure to check your emails and see if you’ve received one from Digital Extreme, and if you don’t need it, pass it along to another friend to join in the Soulframe fun as well!
