Struggling with Split Fiction? Your partner letting you down? Well, whether it’s during gameplay or a boss, we have absolutely all the answers you could possibly need. This guide will be your Split Fiction walkthrough for the eighth boss of the game, the Dragon Slayer, and more accurately, how to beat the Dragon Slayer.
How to Defeat the Dragon Slayer
Mio and Zoe meet the Dragon Slayer after solving a fairly interesting puzzle to open the door blocking the way to this Split Fiction boss battle. With dragons of their own in tow, our two heroines must make good use of the added mobility that they gain in this Chapter to dance and weave through the Dragon Slayer’s devastating attacks while dishing out damage of their own in the process in this single phase encounter.

The Dragon Slayer makes good use of the open arena in which you fight him, unleashing attack after attack with his massive sword aside from a few other tricks up his sleeve which include:
- Two or three consecutive swipes of his sword, send out shockwaves that you will have to vault over.
- The Dragon Slayer thrusts his sword into the ground, sending out a shockwave before yanking it out to release another, both of which can be vaulted over with the right timing.
- He slams his sword in front of him, sending out a pillar of light that can be easily dodged.
- He raises his fist in the air, unleashing a stream of projectiles with decent tracking that you will have to outrun. Note that he unleashes projectiles at both Mio and Zoe simultaneously.
- At certain points in the fight, he charges up a massive attack which creates blue circles on the ground that must be avoided owing to them being the impact points of giant meteors that can cause a lot of damage.
- He also summons in Wyrms that chase you down and must be destroyed as quickly as possible lest they add to the mayhem.
- He creates crystals and spears that act as obstacles to our two heroines, making dodging his other attacks a bit more complicated.
As you may have gathered from that extensive list of attacks, the battle against the Dragon Slayer is one of attrition, requiring you to constantly whittle away at his health while staying on the move in order to avoid the worst of his attacks.
Your dragon mounts are a huge asset in this fight, with the ability to quickly roll out of the way being particularly useful as the Dragon Slayer begins to get more aggressive as the fight progresses. His attacks take some getting used to but are very easy to anticipate as they are telegraphed and come with long charging animations.
With a bit of patience and skillful maneuvering, the Dragon Slayer will soon be a thing of the past, leaving Mio and Zoe to continue on their adventure and progress through the Rise of the Dragon chapter.
