Naoe explores Japan in Assassin's Creed Shadows

This Assassin’s Creed Shadows Player Found the Perfect Way to Kill Two Birds With One Shuriken

When they’re not sharing visually stunning pictures of Sengoku Japan or their Hideouts, Assassin’s Creed Shadows players are finding new ways to make the most out of Naoe and Yasuke’s expansive skillsets. One of them found a little trick that is sure to make sneaking around Castles looking for Legendary gear a whole lot easier.

It’s no secret that Naoe is capable of remaining completely unseen as she flits around guarded areas, using her grappling hook and some insane parkour skills to wipe out entire battalions of enemies before they even realize she’s there. However, this new discovery is sure to inspire other Assassins to find creative ways to get that job done.

Doing Away With Daishos in Style in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Anyone who’s spent a few hours in Ubisoft’s stunning version of Japan is sure to know that Castles are the best way to nab some of Assassin’s Creed Shadows best gear. It’s well worth doing so, as each piece of Legendary gear comes with a unique perk and space to engrave another, making it a great way to tailor combat and stealth to suit your own playstyle.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows brings new stealth mechanics that its players are making the most of.

However, each Castle is guarded by a whole lot of enemies under the command of two or more Samurai Daishos, elite units who could give Naoe or Yasuke a fair bit of trouble if they are unlucky enough to face them in open combat. That could happen sooner than you’d expect, with alarm bells peppered throughout the premises that can quickly complicate things if an enemy were to use them to summon reinforcements.

However, Reddit user markallica6 has found a clever way to deal with both these problems in one fell swoop. It’s an ingenious way to utilize all the tools that Naoe’s shinobi training has given her, with the added benefit of being quite amusing.

One Shuriken to Destroy Them All

Markallica6’s use of shurikens, which you can check out in his Reddit post below, may not be easy to imitate every time you’re in a castle. However, it is certainly useful to remember if the situation presents itself.

Several players were surprised by the fact that shurikens could be used to disable alarm bells. However, managing to get that rather large bell to fall right on a Daisho is a great way to take them out of the fight while leaving their underlings without the means to call for backup.

Other players were quick to chime in with other useful tips that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has cleverly kept hidden from its players, exacerbating the sense of discovery that Ubisoft’s Exploration Mode creates when exploring Japan’s vast landscape.

While we’ve yet to reach the Knowledge Rank required to unlock that new skill tree, it’s certainly nice to know that Ubisoft’s latest outing is proving to be a hit – a fact that we pointed out in our review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
