During this year’s Triple-i Initiative Digital Showcase, gamers got a brand-new look at the upcoming title Morbid Metal, which is currently being developed by the independent studio Screen Juice as well as being published by Ubisoft.
Within the showcase, gamers got a quick glance at the game’s fast-paced hack-and-slash combat that will keep them on their toes with plenty of unique gameplay mechanics that we have only seen the surface of, as well as the potential release window the game is aiming to be released in.
Morbid Metal Looks Like a Hack-And-Slash Gamers Dream With Fun and Fast-Paced Combat

Although the trailer was only a minute long, it was able to provide plenty of interesting sights for gamers to obsess over. Whether it be the gorgeous locations that the player will be able to explore once the game comes out or the action-packed combat that looks like it will never get dull, there is plenty to see in such a short amount of time.
The main focus of the trailer was understandably the combat that Morbid Metal will utilize, with its main feature being the fact that the player is able to shape-shift mid-combat to continue combos as well as take on different situations when they are needed.
From what we can see in the trailer, there are a few different shapes the player can take, with each form likely having its own combat style as well as weapons that it uses to take on the plethora of enemies that the player will encounter.
Due to this shape-shifting mechanic, we can see that Morbid Metal will likely be an interesting hack-and-slash title, as there will be numerous different ways to take on each challenge that is set before the player.
Some of these alternate ways to defeat enemies can be seen within the trailer, such as one boss’s attack being entirely bypassed by the player maneuvering above the boss and staying over its head with a combo that allows them to avoid an entire attack.
As well as seeing some of the combat during this trailer, it was also revealed that Morbid Metal is currently scheduled to release for early access sometime within Summer 2025 and can be wishlisted on Steam.
