Hellraiser: Revival is in full swing at this point. You’ll have beaten Bruno for the first time, travelled to the Labyrinth several times, and gotten deeper into the story, and now, after it was teased earlier in the Cult club, we finally get the fight we’ve been waiting for with Sister of Mercy. If you’re here, you’re likely struggling with her, but by the end of this guide we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to ensure you understand how to beat Sister of Mercy in Hellraiser: Revival.
How to Beat Sister of Mercy in Hellraiser: Revival
As already said, this is a boss fight that’s been a long time coming. After the cat-and-mouse game earlier in the level, it’s been brewing for a while, and I’m glad to say that the boss fight against Sister of Mercy doesn’t disappoint. Not one bit. It’s arguably the most cinematic of all the boss fights in the game, with Sister of Mercy employing several different attacks that’ll keep you on the backfoot. I hope for your sake that before you’ve stepped foot in the arena you’ve stocked up on ammo of all your guns, repaired any heavy weapons you may have, and have sufficient Medkits and Bandages.
One click and you're done. Thank you!
Unlike the cat-and-mouse game earlier, Sister of Mercy is no longer a one hit kill, thankfully. She starts the fight floating high above the arena, goading and taunting you as she floats about. She will lunge at you, and will attempt to grab you. If she does this, hammer R2/RT to escape, otherwise she’ll continue doing damage to you. In the first phase of this boss fight, you’ll want to use any/all ammo you have. If you’re playing on an easier difficulty or particularly good with your shots, you should take a good third of her health away here.

A useful tip for this fight and any boss fights going forward; make sure you have the Dragon Breath Rounds upgrade added to your shotgun. Not only can it deal massive damage, and is useful early on against the Sister of Mercy, but it can set her on fire, causing regular damage as she’s flying and twirling around the arena.
Once you do enough damage to her, she will obscure the entire arena in a veil of smoke and smog. You’ll struggle to see her, but you can hear her coming, and just about see the outline of her body as she flies through the sky to you. When this happens, make sure you have a few bullets left to shoot her and stun her, otherwise she’ll grab and throw you to the floor. Do this three times and the smoke and fog will lift, and you can return to shooting/slashing her.

Once her health drops to half, she’ll fall to the floor and you’ll be prompted to use the Hell Chains. They fly through the air and grab her arms, ripping off two of them. This doesn’t seem to slow her down though, quite the opposite in fact. She’ll return to her flying around the arena and attacking you every now and then. Make use of the pillars to hide, and pick up any and every item you can find as you run around. There are numerous boxes to find, each with ammo or crafting components in, and the ammo especially will become incredibly important as you run out.
After you’ve repeated the same steps as above, she will once again drop down to the floor and allow the use of the Hell Chains on her, thanks to the Lament Configuration Box. Considering she has no arms, she’s not shy of a trick or two now, as she rises into the air and uses Telekinesis to throw knives and glass at you. Again, use the pillars where necessary to hide from the projectiles. Heal if necessary, and if you have any ammo left at all by this point, as unlikely as that is (I had none), use them to damage her some more.
If, like me you don’t have ammo left, you’ll need to wait until she floats close enough to the second level that you can slash at her and damage her. I only had my basic knife, so as you can imagine, the last sliver of health took a while to go, but once it did, she fell to the floor for the final time, ready to be Banished for good. At this stage, she was literally begging for you to do it, and once you do, not only will you get the No Mercy trophy/achievement for beating her, you also get another heart to give to Sunny to help her revival.
And that’s that! You now know how to beat Sister of Mercy in Hellraiser: Revival, and have got your rewards for doing so. Now, you move onto the next stage of the game.
