Bloodborne 2 could bring new Trick Weapons for the Hunter to use.

Bloodborne 2 Finally on the Cards Thanks to Sony’s Potential Purchase

It’s a great time to be a gamer whose wishlist includes Bloodborne 2 if recent reports about a potential acquisition by Sony come true. The sequel to one of FromSoftware’s finest titles has long been on the wishlist of many Souls fans who swear by its aggressive yet addictive gameplay loop that shook up the genre close to a decade ago.

Bloodborne 2 would be the perfect addition to the Japanese studio’s illustrious line-up of titles and an excellent choice for Hidetaka Miyazaki in the aftermath of Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree’s success considering how fans of the original title continue to hold out hope for a sequel to it.

News about Sony being in talks to acquire the Kadokawa Corporation is sure to excite fans of its subsidiary FromSoftware considering that such an event would allow Sony Interactive Entertainment the rights to make Bloodborne 2 a reality since the IP currently belongs to Kadokawa.

While the news points to no finalization of a deal yet, Sony’s 2% stake in Kadokawa is reason enough to indicate its plans to acquire the media powerhouse in an attempt to leverage its many IPs in a bid to bring more exclusives to the PlayStation while also opening up avenues in other media that could very well benefit its two-pronged approach toward exclusive content and a multi-platform presence in gaming.

Meanwhile, Bloodborne 2 could be a worthy successor to the 2015 title with revamped visuals and innovative additions to an already brilliant combat system that could allow its players to find new ways to take the fight to any opponents unfortunate enough to stand in their way.

With Hidetake Miyazaki at its helm, the game is sure to fly off shelves both physical and virtual when one considers just how popular the legendary director’s work has become in the aftermath of his magnum opus.
