If you are just starting out and choosing to enter the battlefield with the God of Mischief, we will help you master the magic, mischief, and moral quandaries of the character. Loki’s ending in Loki Season Two left fans marveling over Loki’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and wondering where he’ll next pop up. We cannot say when he’ll return to the MCU, but he is back with a magical bang in the NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals.

The adopted son of Odin and Frigga, step-brother of Thor and Hela, Loki is a Frost Giant who, thanks to Frigga, also commands a notable skill in magic, misdirection, and manipulation. As slippery and conniving as he is, his constant flitting between good and evil has everyone wondering what his next move is. One thing is for certain, Marvel Rivals Loki doesn’t differ from that recipe too much.

Users won’t see him becoming the very core of the multiverse but the one having those tricks up his sleeves to stun his foes. It seems like Loki will finally get to live his life as he always wanted, to become the Prince of Asgard. His father is in deep Odinsleep, Thor is hurling somewhere in a distant timeline, and Hela is with him for his aid here, and again, the Timestream Entanglement is involved.

Role, Stats, and Abilities

Marvel Rivals Loki is heavily inspired by the appearance in The Avengers and his classic comic-book look. Huge, golden horns, a scepter and a rune stone to help with his magical castings, he’s a distinct character you’ll spot a mile away.

  • Role – Strategist.
  • Difficulty – 4/5.
  • Health – 250.
  • Speed – 6m/s.

Many of the abilities that Marvel Rivals Loki possesses resonate with the ones we have witnessed in the movies and TV series. As a Strategist, he is more involved in deceiving enemies so others can take advantage of it. But he can be seen battling throughout the game too. Following are his abilities you can use for now but we will be updating them as new ones are being added to it:

  • Mystical Missile – Fires missiles that can either heal teammates or damage enemies.
    • Damage – 30 per cast when used on enemies.
    • Healing – 40 per cast when used on allies.
    • Speed – 100 m/s.
    • Fire Rate – 1.75 rounds/s.
    • Range – 3m spherical radius.

    • Healing – 100 m/s.
    • Rune Stone Health – 100.

    • Cooldown – 12s per casted doppelganger, max of two uses at once.

    • Damage – 30 (45 when used from behind).
    • Range – 3m.
  • Devious Exchange – This is a part of Doppelganger’s ability where Loki is able to swap himself with one of the two illusions (or the only one) he has cast.
    • Distance – 30m.
    • Cooldown – 15s.

Best Allies and Team-Ups for Loki

While Hela may have been on the other side trying to take down team Thor in Thor: Ragnarok, where Loki was a part of that team, Hela will be an aid to Loki here. The only team-up ability Loki can use here is with Hela but we will update the section when more of them arrive.

  • Laufeyson Reborn – This is actually an ability effective on both Thor and Loki. Both of them will be resurrected if they are eliminated, or they’ll get more health if still in the game, all dependent on if Hela lands the final hit on an enemy, killing them.
    • Bonus Health – 50
    • Delay – 1.5s

Marvel Rivals Loki Tips & Tricks

As a Strategist, Marvel Rivals Loki is someone who will be a constant target for his rivals, especially because of his deceptive abilities to cut down the confusion it can create for them. So here are some tips you can use to make the best out of your character.

  • Doppelganger is something you can use to evade the damage from enemies so make use of it defensively as well as offensively.
  • Marvel Rivals Loki isn’t really made for close combat so make sure to keep as much distance as you can from the battle, but don’t abandon it (or your teammates).
  • Talking of close combat, make sure to use Backstab, as it will deal a good deal of damage from behind a rival.
  • Be the Loki you saw in Loki Season 2 and try to save your teammates. You’ve got the healing ability so regenerate the health of others. Sacrifice and your team will win.
  • Stay close to your doppelgangers, as that way, you will be inflicting more damage to rivals (or healing more when castings are used on allies), and it’ll add to the confusion of who to attack from your rivals perspective.

How to Beat Marvel Rivals Loki (Weaknesses & Counters)

We looked at how you can use Loki as your character but you may encounter your enemies using him too. That said, it is good to know some tricks of the trade to get rid of the ‘backstabber’.

  • If you even see Loki on the opposition’s side, make him the priority target, as you will get rid of a lot of illusions and his ability to heal other team members. Overwhelm him, don’t allow Deception to be cast, or for him to heal.
  • Loki isn’t a close combat type so it is your chance to force him into close combat so you can defeat him easily. Rush him.

We saw him wearing this skin when he decided to take on the mantle of the multiversal guardian holding the timelines together. Likely to be an incredibly popular skin, and an emotive one at that.

When it comes to Loki’s personality, we are very well aware of the kind of things he can pull off. His Presidential Attire skin is again from the TV series and brings out the very best when we think of the phrase. the God of Mischief.

If Marvel Rivals Loki isn’t up to scratch for you, why not give his brother Thor a go and see if that fits your playstyle better? Failing that, try out the cuddly Jeff the Land Shark for an altogether different experience.
