There are a lot of puzzles within Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy that you will have to solve in order to find your daughter Agata and save the day, and one of those puzzles is opening the front door from the inside of the house after solving a few different puzzles.
How to Unlock the Front Door in Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy
To begin the puzzle of how to unlock the front door, you will first need to have solved the music box puzzle and obtained a dove medal to open the metronome in the foyer, and you will also have needed to interact with said metronome and unlock the retrocognition ability after solving the retrocognition puzzle.
Once you have completed both of these puzzles, you will now be able to move on and begin your search for the way to open the front door and progress with the story of Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy.
How to Start the Search to Unlock the Front Door
Now that you have the Retrocognition ability, you can begin your search for a way out of the Ashmann Villa so that you can look for help and your husband, Angelo, but sadly there is a puzzle to solve to escape, and it can be quite a lengthy one, so I hope you’re prepared.
To begin your search, you will need to make your way into the library, where you can find a projector on a table on the ground floor. You need to find a film reel to activate it, and this is where your quest begins.
Also on this table, you will find a note that explains what you need the film reel for, and that is to obtain a safe code from the reel so that once you find the safe, you can open it and progress with your objective.
How to Find the Film Reel

Jumping right into it, before you leave the library, there is something you can do to progress this quest, and that is to head to the right of the projector towards a set of double doors that are missing a door handle. This room is an office and has been locked by Mr Ashmann before his passing, as he likes to hide his door handle from his kids so that they cannot enter the room and see rather questionable things.
To find the door handle so you can enter this room, you will need to look to the right of the door, as there will be a painting you can interact with where you can use the Retrocognition ability, which retells a conversation between the father and son of the Ashmanns where they discuss where the doorknob is hidden.
After listening to this memory, you will learn the doorknob is hidden in a mosaic in the bathhouse part of the villa, which is on the left-hand side of the villa, where you first enter the game. If you go to visit this location, you will be able to find a large mosaic showing 4 women that the father describes as Nymphs as they bathe in a waterfall, but this can also be looked at to symbolise the 4 Novices that hunt you throughout the game.

The father will also mention that you will need to knock on the mosaic 3 times to open a compartment hidden inside, and this is where the doorknob for the office will be hidden, but be warned: once you do this and begin to head back, a Novice will fall through the ceiling and begin chasing you.
Now that you have the doorknob, you can return to the office and open the room. Sadly, there isn’t a whole lot in here, but if you go to the desk, you can find the film reel and some rather interesting lore regarding the game’s story.
Finally, you have obtained the film reel, and you can place it in the projector, which at first shows you some rather haunting images, but if you wait long enough, you will begin to see rather standard pictures in the mix, with one being an image of a bird and flowers, one being moths and a torch, and the final one being fish and lily pads.
If you have read the note, you will know that these are what make the safe code combination, so make sure you take note of them or continue reading our guide.
How to Find and Open the Safe

Now you have found the safe code; you need to find the safe, and your first instinct would be to look around the library and the office, but sadly you cannot find it here. Instead, you need to make your way to the Room of Wonders, as this is where your search will begin.
Once you enter this room, you will need to head straight forward from the door to a small table, which holds another Retrocognition memory for you to uncover. You can look towards a trophy and hear another memory between Stefano and his dad as they talk about money and where the safe can be found.
The location of the safe will be described as the father’s favourite picture in the Room of Wonders, which has a lot of birds in it, and this picture is the image of a pyramid with a set of birds flying across, which can be found to the left of the door you came in from or to the right of the door when you are looking at said door.

Now what you simply need to do is head over to this painting and uncover the safe. To do so, you need to interact with the painting and move your camera to the right-hand part of the frame, where a prompt will show up, allowing you to move the painting to the side and reveal the safe, where you now need to use the code to open it.
If you are looking to open the safe yourself without our help, then make sure to check the images from the film reel, as these images are the solution to the safe code. If you are just looking for the code, as you aren’t sure about it, the code is 73 31 52, and once you use this code, the safe will open.
How to Unlock the Front Door

There isn’t a lot of stuff to find in this safe, as there isn’t any money that you can steal, but there is a ring known as the Ashmann Family Ring that you can find in there, which has a very noticeable A on it and can be specifically used for opening the front door of the villa.
What you will need to do is head back to the foyer and try to open the front door of the house, but be warned, as the Novices begin to get very aggressive and will try to block your path, so make sure you sneak around first before heading to the door.
After making your way outside, you need to head back to your car, as right now your goal is to escape and come back with the police, but sadly this doesn’t go to plan as a familiar character appears and convinces you to stay, and you get brought back into the villa to continue the game.
