Well, no matter the issue, we have everything answered to make Atomfall easy for you. In this guide, we’ll explain where to find the Strange Tonic, one of the many available recipes in the game, what it does, and what you’ll need to craft it.

EDITOR’S NOTE
There are multiple locations of the recipes in Atomfall, so depending on your playstyle, you may have already found the recipe below. This is just one location available.

Strange Tonic Recipe Location

Depending on how you choose to start Atomfall, and what leads you initially go for the Strange Tonic Recipe Location could be one of the earliest you find, and you’ll be glad, as it’s a much-needed Tonic in some areas of the game.

If you’ve met Mother Jago and agreed to follow her request and get her book back from the Druids, you’ll end up having to find your way through the Castle, and you’ll end up in a room high above the murky mines and caves below.

As you climb the stairs from the caves, you’ll see a grand hall full of light and greenery, and to the left of that, a room with candles and books. Go into that room on the left, and you’ll notice two things.

  • Mother Jago’s Book is on the table in the center of the room.
  • The Strange Tonic Recipe is on the table nearest the door. Hard to miss!

Make sure you learn the Strange Tonic Recipe, as having it just in your backpack isn’t enough, but once you have, you’ll be able to craft it.

Strange Tonic Recipe Ingredients and Effects

Once you have the Strange Tonic Recipe, you’ll be able to craft it in the crafting menu, as long as you have the required resources needed. To craft it, you’ll need :

  • Spores – 4/4
  • Chemicals – 1/1
  • Glass – 3/3
  • Herbs 5/5

Once you’ve crafted the Strange Tonic, you’ll now have an Infection Resistance Buff, which reduces infection build-up and damage from infection-causing hazards. This will come in handy later on when you’ve found the Interchange, not to mention the many houses, caves, and hidden areas riddled with the infection-causing spores.

To say Mother Jago’s Tonic is a worthwhile find is a little understated. Now that you know the location of the Strange Tonic and what you need to craft it, you can craft it at your leisure during your playthrough. Beyond just this Strange Tonic, make sure you look out for the Combat Stim – used in times when you may be outnumbered -, the Poison Bomb – a fantastic crowd control throwable -, or the Nail Bomb – another crowd control weapon that will cause bleed damage to all inside its dangerous radius.
