Are you finding Atomfall difficult? Struggling to find the right weapon or keycard for the situation? How about missing a key recipe? In this guide we’ll run you through how to complete the ‘Mother Jago Wants Her Book Back’ lead quickly and easily, lest you get lost and miss it entirely. The book is squirreled away amidst castle ruins and caves, so you’ll need a clear guide to find it – luckily, you’re in the right place.
Mother Jago’s Book Location
You’ll have the opportunity to meet Mother Jago early on in Atomfall, if you so choose, as she’s left notes all over the place sending those interested in her herbal remedies her way. Once you do meet her in Casterfell, she’ll quickly ask you for a favor in helping return her stolen book, taken by the nearby Druid cult.
To get her book back, you’ll want to head towards the Castle Ruins, in the bottom left-hand side of the map. On your way there, you’ll want to cross the bridge at 24.4E, 88.2N, and head towards the Druid camp passed the petrol station. Make sure to dispatch the enemy overlooking the camp, as he has a handy bow and arrow you’ll want.
Throughout the camp you’ll want to head towards the left, squeezing through the wooden barricade, and then you’ll come across a grated door in a rockface. This is your entrance to the ruins and the location of Mother Jago’s Book.
Once inside the ruins you’ll be greeted with a huge Bloom of blue light, pointing upwards to the heavens, whilst Druids chant and chat amongst themselves. It may seem like a maze of tunnels all ending in the same area, and for the most part, the early stages of the ruins are, but there is a quick way to the book.
Head down the stairs towards the chanting High Priestess – up to you if you decide to kill her – down the left side of the hole and move forward, down the tunnel. Continue following these tunnels until you come to a bridge. Cross that, and you’ll be attacked by bats, which should signify you’re on the right track. Now, go past the dead body (recipe on the wall here) and head upwards, as the book is above you.
You’ll come to a fork in the corridors, where you can go right, back towards the hole, or left. Right does have a Training Stimulant, but left is where you’ll want to go. Go up the stairs in front of you and you’ll come out in a courtyard filled with sunlight and plants (above). Now head left into the room facing said courtyard and the book will be there, surrounded by candles (above). Also, near the book in the same room will be another recipe.
Whilst you’re in the castle, it may make sense for you to look out for the Excalibur Easter Egg, one of the hard-to-find Training Manuals, or a shortcut in the Castle Fireplace that you can miss way too easily.
Once you’re all done exploring the Castle Ruins, head back to Mother Jago at 26.7E, 92.3N, and receive your reward, Three Training Stimulants, and the beginnings of the next lead.
