If you have come here, you have been struggling to fight Entom, The Starved, one of the early bosses you can encounter within The Relic: First Guardian, found shortly after your fight with Branko, The Blood Stained Shield. We have some good news for you, as this guide will help you to battle this monstrous boss as well as find out what items you can claim from said boss after defeating it.
How to Find Entom, The Starved in The Relic: First Guardian

Once you are able to explore The Relic: First Guardian’s open world, there are plenty of bosses to find and conquer with no particular order to do them in; however, there are some bosses that are closer than anticipated, with one being Entom, The Starved, who is located a short run away from the open-world entrance.
As shown in the image above, Entom, The Starved, is located in a location called the Abandoned Village, which can be found if you turn left after entering the open world. After pushing through the small village filled with standard enemies, there will be a rest spot located next to a fenced-off area. This rest spot is a big indicator that you are at the entrance to Entom, The Starved boss fight.
How to Beat Entom, The Starved
When it comes to fighting Entom, The Starved, there are quite a few attacks that you need to watch out for in order to defeat this boss with ease. For starters, a lot of the boss’s attacks often involve chasing the player around in order to close the gap between them and do a strong, devastating hit, leading to a lot of damage being taken.
Avoiding these attacks is quite simple, as the boss runs towards the player at a rather fast speed, but if you wait till the last second and dodge, you will always be able to avoid the charge attacks that Entom employs. This is especially important as the boss has two different versions of this attack; one version is a standard charge in which the boss shoulder charges into the player, and the second is an unparryable attack where the boss just tries to run through you with the indicator above his head.
Another big attack that will surprise players is when the boss leaps into the air and belly flops onto the player. Upon seeing this for the first time, this can be quite shocking, especially since it cannot be parried, so dodging is the only way to survive it, but once this attack is done by the boss, it does open him up for a counterattack from the player.
CHEESE METHOD: Throughout the arena, there are various barrels that can be destroyed, leaving a small pool of fire on the floor. If you kite the boss into these barrels, causing him to stand in them for a while, it can cause him to gain the burning effect slowly, leading him to burn his own health away.
The most important part of fighting Entom, The Starved, is waiting until the right time to attack; there are moments in which you can get a single hit in, but this isn’t the most efficient way to beat him. The best time to attack the boss is when he has exhausted himself with long combos or his big belly flop attack.
After the boss attempts his big attacks, he often has to catch his breath quite literally before jumping back into fighting you, and this is the best time to deal damage to the boss, especially if you have any skills for your weapon, as they will deal plenty of damage to the boss and can be done with a lot of confidence without the risk of being knocked out of them and putting them on cooldown with no payoff.
UPCOMING BOSSES
- Erdian, The Broken Vow
- Taylor
Once you have beaten Entom, The Starved, he will fall onto his back after an explosive death animation, providing you with loot and the opportunity to search the houses within his boss arena. One of which houses a chest that holds the very powerful Relic Awaking Shard, which is needed to activate and expand your relic once you return to Elisa at the camp. Within this house, there is also a lore pick-up called The Elderly Couple’s Journal: Remnants of Love.
However, the specific loot you get from Entom is the following:
- Fragment of the Corrupted Abyss
- Relic Energy
- His relic – Remembrance of the Left Behind Meal
- And his lore
After leaving this boss arena, I do recommend resting at Tibelle’s Blessing rest spot to get your health and healing items back, or using the fast travel mechanic to head back to the camp in order to unlock your relic, as this can be incredibly strong and helpful as the game goes on.
