One click and you're done. Thank you!
After a large amount of dives, thousands of monsters killed, bosses defeated and Julia saved, lost, and then found again, Stupid Never Dies is coming to an end. After many false finishes, a previous fight with KOM resulting in the death of Zaza the Phoenix, and Brain Core retrieval in between, we’re at our final fight with the silent and mysterious KOM. Over a matter of several phases, we fight what becomes KOM Gaia, stopping the destruction of humankind and once again saving Julia.
If you’re here, you’re likely struggling with this final fight, and for good reason. By the end of this guide though, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know so you can beat KOM Gaia in Stupid Never Dies.
How to Beat KOM Gaia in Stupid Never Dies
Before you even meet KOM Gaia for the final story-based boss fight of Stupid Never Dies, you’ll need to dive one more time into the dungeon. You’ve gathered all the Brain Cores from the previous bosses, met and fought Dullahan again, and then dove all the way to Layer 39. Now you’re here, and faced with a boss far bigger, with more health, and more damaging than any others before.
Understandably, you may be struggling, but by the end of this guide you’ll know exactly what you need to do to beat KOM Gaia in Stupid Never Dies, and be done with the story!
First Phase
The first phase of KOM Gaia is just against KOM himself. Standard wheelchair form, and much like the last fight against KOM, he emerges out of a portal in his wheelchair, and ultimately, doesn’t pose a huge problem to you here. Regardless of your Styles you have to hand, make sure you are relentless in your attacks to KOM.

He’ll summon enemies half way through this first fight, both weak and Elite in nature, but ignore them as best you can, and focus your efforts on KOM himself. When he teleports, chase him down. You’ll see his health drop quickly, and realise this may not be as easy as it seems, with the cutscene that follows this first phase showing KOM eating the Gaia Core, transforming into a monstrous being you’ll wonder how you’re going to beat.
Second Phase
This second phase against KOM Gaia is momentary, at best. It’s little more than an interlude between the first and third, and you’ll wonder if you’re doing something wrong. You’re not, as you can’t hurt him.
Between his size, shield and your own limitations, it’s impossible to hurt him now, and before you know it, a second cutscene plays as it looks like Davy has died, failing in his ultimate goal to protect the Earth and save Julia in the process.
Third Phase
As the third phase shows, Davy is anything but beaten, and thanks to the power of love, powers up in something of a Dragon Ball-esque manner, and now the real fight begins.
I started this fight against KOM Gaia on Level 120. That changes quite quickly, believe me. To beat KOM Gaia now, you need to be patient. It’s not something the rest of the game has taught you, but it is needed here. He will shield his main body the majority of the time, and thanks to his size and height, attacking it is pointless and difficult. Instead, you’ll be focusing your attacks on his limbs, and his seed-like towers he throws out.
Periodically throughout this third phase, KOM will mention his limbs, and then out of nowhere, summon one that crashes down. It will attack you in a variety of ways, but the simple matter of fact is, you need to attack it as quickly as possible and with as much damage as possible. I had both a Golem and Werewolf Style to hand, and spent most of it in the latter.
The speed given by the Werewolf Style is much-needed, and I hope you end up at the boss battle with it, if not something equally as fast.
When the summoned limb has finished its attack animation, make sure to get in close and unleash Bites, Style Skills and basic attacks like there’s no tomorrow. Your level will fly up by tens at a time as you defeat these limbs, increasing your own damage as you go.
Beyond the limbs are the seed-like towers mentioned earlier, which as soon as they are thrown out, you’ll want to destroy them instantly. They tend to die in one hit, especially later on, so shouldn’t pose too much of a problem.
This pattern will continue for the majority of the fight, with you needing to destroy the towers and limbs, and avoiding damage yourself. KOM Gaia will float around the arena, which is huge, so keep moving and closing the distance down until you’re within hitting distance.
Once you’ve done quite a bit of damage to him, he’ll drop his blue shield and allow you to attack his main body/heads. This is when you’ll want to use your Davy Burst, as well as any other high-powered attacks you may have on hand. If you’re quick enough and managed to get to a high enough level (I finished on Level 999), you’ll see KOM Gaia’s health plummet, and the boss fight will come to a close with a cutscene.
TIP: If you’re struggling, you can make Stupid Never Dies far easier by heading into the settings and turning on the ‘Go Nuts’ mode, which will make Davy far stronger, his health pool bigger, and his Zombie Receipts more likely to be good ones.
And that’s it. You now know how to beat KOM Gaia in Stupid Never Dies, and that’s it for the game. Or at least, the story of the game anyway.
