How to Fast Travel in Mortal Shell 2

Mortal Shell 2 is here, and with it, an entire open world of possibilities. With world design that harkens back to the original Dark Souls trilogy, with looping bridges, multiple, layered environment traversal, and plenty of places to explore and get lost, you’ll be glad to know you can fast travel in Mortal Shell 2, but not straight away, and you have to unlock it. By the end of this short guide though, you’ll have it unlocked and understand exactly what and when to do it. It’s also far easier than in the original, which is helpful.

How to Fast Travel in Mortal Shell 2

Fast travel in Mortal Shell 2 will allow you to jump from beacon to beacon, as long as you’ve already discovered that beacon in the world. If you haven’t found it, you can’t fast travel to it. As with other Soulslikes, every death or fast travel will bring back to life those enemies you just spent time killing, so bare that in mind every time you zip around the fairly large map. However, before that, you actually need to know how to fast travel.

The first few hours of Mortal Shell 2 are spent explaining the world, mechanics, moves and more, as a ‘in-the-deep-end’ tutorial, but there will be some players that manage to complete the game without learning about fast travel, as it’s not included in the tutorial, and you more-so happen upon it than are directed to it.

To unlock Fast Travel in Mortal Shell 2, you’ll need to firstly find the beacon you wish to travel to, as well as unlock Mether’s Breath, which can be done as part of the story, so it’s unmissable.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to zip around the map all over the place, as long as you’ve found the beacon. Considering the size of the map, and the amount of times you’ll die, you’re going to want to find as many of the 46 Beacons as you can, if only to ensure you don’t have a huge trek to your destination every time.
