Fighting bosses and taking their weapons is a task that goes hand-in-hand with pretty much every Soulslike on the table, not just Mortal Shell 2. However, when finding and fighting the Prophet of Profane Infinities, this may be the first time you’ll experience it in this game. Surprisingly, despite the efficacy of the weapon he’s protecting, he’s not exactly full of health and doesn’t pose a great threat to you, but regardless of all that, by the end of this guide, you’ll know location, rewards, and exactly how to beat the Prophet of Profane Infinities in Mortal Shell 2.
Location of the Prophet of Profane Infinities
Finding the Prophet of Profane Infinities isn’t as difficult as other bosses, thankfully. Starting above at the Abandoned Mine Beacon, you’ll want to head south. You’ll pass through a small mining town, past enemies you’ll need to kill, until you come to the bottom of a flooded quarry. It’s hard to miss. You can kill the enemies here, of which there aren’t many, or you can run straight from the slope you enter on, across the quarry, and into the silvery veil of the dungeon opposite you.
The dungeon itself is a linear experience, just more vertical than horizontal. As you progress, you’ll be tasked with making calculated drops down mineshafts, onto platforms and then eventually the cavern floor. Be careful to make sure you land on the next platform, not doing what I did and missing them all, otherwise you’ll be fighting the Propher of Profane Infinities with less health than you should, and that’s not optimal. Once you hit the cavern floor, walk forward towards the big circular area that looks like a miniature Stonehenge, and you’ll see the boss right in front of you.

How to Beat the Prophet of Profane Infinities in Mortal Shell 2
Beyond being named with unnecessary complexity, the Prophet of Profane Infinities in Mortal Shell 2 is another boss that you’ll need to beat if you want to progress in the game. Well, in the sense he’s entirely optional, but does protect a two-handed Obsidian Hammer that’ll make mincemeat of most enemies, if you choose to use it. Before we get to that though, you’ll need to know my build:
- Eredrim Shell – Location here.
- Veteran’s Battle Axe – Location here.
- Troubadour Lute.
- Vatra Seal.
- Marksman’s Stone – Increases crit chance of ranged weapons.
- Retribution Stone – Increases Riposte damage.
- Deadeye Stone – Increases ranged crit damage.
- Berserker Stone – Increases damage output the lower your health is.
Knowing how to beat the Prophet of Profane Infinities comes down to understanding the basics of the game. He’s not particularly special. His main two attacks are an unblockable, if easily avoidable slam of his hammer onto the floor, and slow, methodical swings that you should have no trouble either parrying or Hardening to avoid any damage to yourself.

If you have it, use the Lute to instil Confusion, and if like me, you’re using Eredrim, don’t be afraid of backing up and spamming his Shell Ability, the Shoulder Bash. I have it maxed out, meaning each one causes 250% Break Damage, and quickly brought the Prophet of Profane Infinities to his knees. Whenever he was stunned, I’d use a Riposte attack, which dealt huge damage, otherwise I’d wait until he attacked me, Hardening my Shell and causing him to stutter, before quickly launching a combo of my own.
The slow, lumbering movement of this boss will prove little trouble to anyone that’s played Soulslikes previously, and even when compared to bosses in the same game, this one comes up short. Just remember to avoid and dodge out of the way of his unblockable slam attack, and you’ll be fine.
Once you hit that final blow, you’ll now know how to beat the Prophet of Profane Infinities in Mortal Shell 2, and for your trouble, you’ll get the following rewards:
- Gloom
- Glimpse
- Obsidian Hammer
Now, time to move onto the next boss! Good luck out there.
