Control Resonant is a game that doesn’t shy away from the weirdness of its universe. Filled with odd enemies from alternate dimensions and possessed everyday items like the one featured in this quest, it can leave you scratching your head at how the writers even thought it up, let alone put it into the video game itself. We’ll walk you through the steps on how to complete the side quest given by Langson when you first meet him, as some steps aren’t particularly obvious.
How to Complete the Panopticon Service Request Quest
You’ll have been sent to Central by Zoe as part of the main quest. Once you arrive, you’ll have to head to the Field Security Office to obtain a security keycard, and this will be your opportunity to meet Langston for the first time. Found on the right side of the area, he’ll first give you some context as to who he is, what he does, and why he needs your help. He’ll then go off on a tangent about how useless the team he did have were, and why he needs your help to fix a ‘mission critical’ issue. Just as well you turned up, hey?
Once you finish the conversation with him, he’ll direct you to the Field Panopticon behind him. Head in, and you’ll be greeted by the sight of five plastic boxes. Four are locked, one is open. The idea is to open one of the five boxes, and take the contents, the radio inside, and move it to another box. This is Control Resonant though, nothing is ever that simple.

Step One
Before you can do anything, open anything, or really be useful, you need to fix the security console. Langston will direct you to it, but it’s difficult to miss. It’s missing three components. The room isn’t massive, so it’s not difficult to find them, but you’ll be looking for two boxes, which slot into the bottom right of the security console, and a satellite dish, which you’ll place above the dish that’s there.
If you’re confused as to where, just look for the big red flashing light above the entrance to the security console. Now you’ve done that, you can move onto the second step.
Step Two
Now you’ve restored power to the cells, you’ll be tasked with opening them. Head over to B-02 and interact with it, prompting Langston to try and open it. If you’ve read the notes in the room, you’ll already know this isn’t going to work, due to the previous team being unhappy with the previous setup, and changing the ID-tags for the cells to ‘what they should be’. Langston, being the one that changed them in the first place, won’t know this, and will task you with figuring out which is the correct ID.
In simple terms, it’s D-04. You can figure this out for yourself thanks to the aforementioned note, but now you know, tell Langston and move onto the next step.
Step Three
The cell will open and you’ll be able to pick up the radio. Don’t forget, this is no normal radio, so expect some shenanigans. The Altered Item will immediately start messing with you, making you hallucinate, and seemingly no matter what you do or how many times you put the radio on the pedestal in the open cell E-05, it’ll ‘reset’. This is half true. As Langston said, seemingly nonsensically at the time, you need to look for the World Trade Fair. This refers to a specific radio broadcast.
The broadcasts only switch when you place the radio down on the pedestal, or when the radio forces a reset of its own, so it’s possible to miss the broadcast you need, and you’ll have to go around again, so to speak. Once you’re heading the radio presenter discussing the World Trade Fair, make sure to quickly grab the radio and place it on the pedestal, ending the loop.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll have completed the Panopticon Service Request quest in Control Resonant, and gotten some rewards for your trouble:

- Aramid Work Clothes Outfit
