Control Resonant has its share of bosses and difficult to beat enemies, and Linus is no different. He’s one of the tougher early game minibosses, so we’ll be able to explain everything you need to know in your quest of beating Linus. He’s a surprisingly difficult enemy to get to grips with, so don’t take him too lightly.
Linus Location in Control Resonant
If you’re here reading this, you’ve likely already had the misfortune of finding Linus. If you’re just on clean-up duty and looking for stuff you may have missed though, read on.
Finding Linus in Control Resonant is as simple as starting the Crossing the Threshold quest, which we have a handy guide for here. You’ll end up having to go to a warehouse that, as soon as you enter, Linus and a collection of goons will appear, ready to hurt and kill you.

How to Beat Linus in Control Resonant
Linus, considering his miniboss status and relative early game appearance, is harder to kill than you’d expect. It’s partly down to the close environment, the basic enemies getting in the way, or the heavy enemies floating above raining explosive bombs on you, but don’t be ashamed if you struggle a little. First though, here’s my early build I was fighting him with:
- Primary Form: Strike – A fast attack with a high Critical Chance.
- Secondary Form: Drill – A quick attack. Charge to continuously drill the target.
- Barrage – Sends projectiles hurtling towards a target.
As soon as you run into the Warehouse, you need to be on the offensive. Rush towards Linus and stifle him with attacks. Use your basic attacks and, if you’re using Drill, make sure to use that too. You may have to dodge a little, but if you’ve done it right, the level above you will protect you from the heavy enemies ranged attacks, and you’ll be able to unleash hell on Linus. You should be able to get him down to half health during this time, stunlocking him against the wall like below.
He’ll eventually get out of this and begin attacking you. It is incredibly important you don’t get him by him, as one hit can decimate your health in an instant, and leave you scrambling. If this does happen, and you do get clipped by his fiery, spinning move, make sure to grab the health on the left (likely the entrance you came in from), or if you’ve already done that, try to take out some basic enemies to recoup some health.
Once he’s escaped your stunlock and come at you, now you’ll need to be a little more careful with your attacks, while also attacking those around you. Don’t focus on one enemy too long or too often, as you’ll get caught by Linus or the heavy enemies floating above you. Make sure of the multiple levels as a means to escape, more than anything, and don’t forget to use your abilities when you can. For me, this is why Barrage was so ridiculously useful here, as it allowed me to attack someone while on the move.
Don’t get greedy in your attacks towards Linus. The second half of the battle will be far longer than the first half when you had him stunlocked, and you’ll need to be wary of his spinning attack more than anything. Whatever you do, do not try and tank it, you will die.
It may take a few tries, but once you’ve beaten Linus, you’ll get the following rewards:
- 2x Distorted Form
- 236 x Source
- 1 x Warped Resonance
- Hiss Pursuer – Apex
And that should be that. You now know how to beat Linus in Control Resonant. So to reiterate, opening moments should be rush, drill, and don’t let up. Then after that you need to always keep moving, dodging, and only attacking in spurts. Avoid the fiery, spinning attack. No extended combos. Keep chipping away and that’ll be enough to beat him.
