Control Resonant doesn’t mess about. From weird goings on to FBC workers who can’t help but eat the Mold, there’s always something you’ll want to get to the bottom of. Well, at the end of the Power Lines Quest, you’ll end up finally meeting Sandra, the FBC agent that has been front and centre for ten recordings, telling her story and ultimately detailing her spiral into Mold-induced psychosis. The talking is over now though, and instead, you’ll have to figure out how to beat Sandra in Control Resonant, and thankfully we have you covered.
How to Beat Sandra in Control Resonant
The Mold in Control Resonant is an interdimensional being that wants you to eat it. It needs to reproduce, and lowers people’s inhibitions until they want, no need to eat it. That then transforms them into the Mold, and continues the cycle of spreading. It’s quite the fundamental part of the entity, and makes it one of the more terrifying enemies in the game. Just don’t eat the Mold, okay?
At the end of the Power Lines quest in Control Resonant, you’ll have calibrated the platforms and be making your way back upstairs to talk with Dr. Florez, but before that happens, Sandra appears.
One click and you're done. Thank you!

Previous an FBC Agent tasked with fixing and understanding the shifting subway stations, the recordings you’ve been listening to over the past hour or so as you fixed said stations showcase her spiralling mental state, and eventual betrayal of her team, all so she could get her hands on the Mold and help it do what it needs to. Now, she’s no longer human, but in fact a giant Mold like creature, but stronger than the ones you’ll have fought before. Before we get to how to beat her though, you should know my build:
- Primary Form: Strike – A fast attack with a high Critical Chance.
- Secondary Form: Drill – A quick attack. Charge to continuously drill the target.
- Barrage – Sends projectiles hurtling towards a target.
- Ignite – Inflicts burn damage.
- Ground Pound – Slams the floor with your fist, damaging enemies around you.
I cannot emphasise it enough. Make sure you have Ignite before you attempt this boss fight. Burn damage is a huge benefit against the Mold, and will make even the hardest enemies, like Sandra, or The Collective, that much easier. The Mold hates fire, and is one of the few things that actually make sense!
The cramped confines of the subway station make it hard work for you to move about freely as you would in any other situation. Sandra brings along a few of her pals with her, but similarly to normal play, you won’t want to focus on them, and instead make the heavy, in this case Sandra, your focus.
While the smaller subway station can be a detriment, it can also be a benefit. As soon as Sandra spawns, and she’ll spawn right at the back, you’ll want to rush towards her, turn on Ignite, and then pummel her with attacks. If you have a finisher unlocked (you should by now) and equipped, this will help more, and if it’s one of the crowd control ones, will also be attacking the minions at the same time. Keep attacking Sandra with a basic four move and finisher combo, and stunlock her between you and the very back wall. Make sure you dodge regularly, so as to keep the ranged attacks or just basic attacks from the minions hitting you, and throw in the odd Ground Pound if you have it equipped like I do. It’s good crowd control.

If done right, similarly to the fight with Linus in the Crossing the Threshold quest earlier in the game, you’ll make short work of her. If she manages to escape the stunlock, or the fight goes to the bottom of the stairs, then the prospect changes slightly. You’ll want to be a little more defensive, and instead of continually attacking her, dodge and approach from the back, which will take away her ability to hit you. If she starts to attack you, and you miss the dodge, make sure you don’t let her get multiple hits in, otherwise she can kill you quickly. Hopefully you’ve been exploring enough that your Max Health is upgraded a few times by now, otherwise it could easily be one hit kill with her. For your trouble of beating Sandra, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- 1 x Edible Glob
- 231 x Source
- 1 x Thriving Spore
- Mold Blight Apex
Follow the above, and you’ll make lightwork of an otherwise troublesome and frustrating miniboss in Control Resonant, but now you’re done, Sandra is finally at peace and you can move on.
