So far within Control Resonant, you will have already defeated plenty of Resonance bosses throughout your adventure, and now you have managed to find your way to The Collective. This resonance is hidden within The Park location, which you can find after a rather funny quest and obtaining some abilities beforehand.
How to Find The Collective in Control Resonant

First off, in order to fully progress with The Collective Resonant search, you will also need to find the Gravitation Shift ability from within the West Incursion Zone, as you physically cannot get to The Collective without it. It is entirely up to you if you want to complete the quest leading up to this roadblock first or get the Gravitational Shift ability first and complete the quest in one big go.
One click and you're done. Thank you!
After or before you acquire this ability, what you will need to do is make your way to the center of The Park, as there is a large chasm in the middle that you can head down into with a patterned door blocking your way and a small cafe to the left with the door open.
As you approach this cafe, you will notice a small plate on a table that has a piece of mold placed onto it. The problem with this mold is that it is slowly drawing you in, enticing you to do the one thing that is constantly stated while in this area, which is “don’t eat the mold,” which is on a sign directly next to this cafe as well.

However, as much as you want to listen to rules, the mold will eventually draw Dylan in, enticing him to eat it, and he shall lead to the next part of this quest as he feels drawn to 3 other mold appetizers around The Park location.
It does not matter which of these three mold appetizers that you go to first, as you will need to acquire all 3 before you can make your way through the door. These three mold appetizers are spread around The Park map with one being at the top, one being towards the right-hand side, and one at the bottom, with you being able to work your way around starting from the top before heading to the right and then to the bottom unless obviously you have explored first and opened the shortcuts.
Now that you have had your lunch and gone through some rather interesting dialogue, you can now head back to the patterned gateway and head into the depths of The Park. This is where having the Gravitational Shift ability is required, as you will need to climb up a wall to head to the next area, which is a straight path leading to another patterned gateway that you can simply walk up to and interact with, triggering the next boss.
How to Beat The Collective
Once you begin the boss fight with The Collective, you should prepare for a rather interesting fight, as you aren’t just focused on defeating a single entity during this boss fight, but instead you will be attacking various entities, which will whittle the boss’s health down slowly.
If you are feeling a little unsure on if you are ready for this boss or are looking for tips on what is best to use against him, we have included our build below so you can take notes on what we used to beat it:
- Glaive – Wide sweeping attack that deals raw damage
- Crush – A slow but high-damage attack that can knock enemies down
- Split Pivot combo finisher – A spinning blade that appears at the end of a combo
- Volatile Anomaly – Summons an ally that shoots enemies and can be thrown at them
- Inferno – Turns your melee weapon and Volatile Anomaly into fire based attacks
- Push – Allows you to push enemies with great force
The first thing you will need to focus on when starting this boss fight is that The Collective will grow two tentacles of mold from the floor before you, which, if you look closely, also has faces in it, as it is made up of people and the mold.
To begin dealing damage to The Collective, what you will need to do is destroy these tentacles, which don’t have a lot of health, allowing you to quickly destroy them. After defeating these first two tentacles, you will then have to climb the walls a bit, as more a single tentacle will have grown on each side wall, encouraging you to again defeat them.
Please be warned, after you defeat these tentacles, the sides of the arena will be filled with a gas that will build up the mold status on you and deal damage over time, so you will need to head back to the base of the arena, where the actual boss on the wall will have some small mold balls that you will need to attack and destroy to deal more damage to the boss.
Luckily the rest of the boss fight is pretty much rinse and repeat with more tentacles spawning around the arena even on the roof, so if you clear out the side walls, make sure to look up as well.
Due to this, The Collective is a rather simple boss to fight, as there isn’t a whole lot to worry about besides the various mold bullets being sent your way and the different enemies lurking around, but this can be used to your advantage, as this can allow you to gain Dominance and begin dealing more damage to the boss’s tentacles and balls.
After defeating The Collective, you will now be able to earn a new ability out of two options, the first being Spore Burst, which gives you the ability to shoot spores from your hands like a minigun, or Growth, which allows you to summon a small ally that shoots enemies and helps build up the infected status effect.
