Valor Mortis is the new game created by One More Level, the studio that brought you the Ghostrunner franchise. This time, they are trying something completely new with a Soulslike first-person shooter, according to their own description of the game.

As mentioned earlier, Valor Mortis is only a single-player experience and does not have co-op or multiplayer options. However, this particular game has some open-world elements that reward you for exploring every corner of every area on the map throughout each chapter of the story.

You’ll play as a resurrected soldier called William, who discovers a completely different Europe in the middle of the Napoleonic Wars. The Crimson Plague has infected almost every civilian and soldier, turning them into zombies with different abilities. They are also extremely aggressive.

There are letters and other things to find all over the place, as well as a ton of side quests to complete and different items, weapons, and new abilities to collect to defeat the infected. This exploration is one of the greatest aspects of Valor Mortis, and it also makes the game last much longer than anticipated.

The answer depends on the type of player. More casual players might not be as interested in side quests or exploration. As for completionists, this game also has a ton of content to discover.

Finish the story and base game without much exploration: 15–20 hours.
Complete all the side quests and look for all the secrets: 30+ hours.
Collect absolutely everything and even earn the Platinum Trophy: 35–40 hours.

It´s not that difficult to complete every part of the game. However, the only problem is that all the enemies will respawn in every area you revisit. That is the main issue when backtracking to collect something you missed during your first playthrough.

Also, One More Level confirmed that Valor Mortis DLC will be available in 2027, adding more content to the story of Valor Mortis.
