Throughout Valor Mortis you will come across loads of different weapons that you will want to use and fight enemies with, but some of them don’t exactly pack a large enough punch to be worth using. To make these weapons worth using, you will need to upgrade them, and that can be quite a simple matter once you get far enough into the game.

How to Upgrade Weapons in Valor Mortis

Valor Mortis weapon upgrade bench.

As you progress through the early sections of the game, you will no doubt come across weapon parts for both your melee weapon and your ranged weapon, which during the early sections will be a pistol, and you will likely be wondering how you can use these items to upgrade your weapons.

Well wonder no longer, as we are here to tell you how. The first thing you will need to do is continue playing the game until you reach the church hub after defeating the boss General Lothaire, The Eagle-Bearer for technically the second time gaining you access to a workbench within.

After you approach the church, you will be invited in by an NPC who seems to be your friend, known as James, as he explains to you a little more about what is happening in this grim world of Valor Mortis.

Once you have finished talking with James, you will then unlock the opportunity to upgrade your weapons at a bench to the left of him, where you can upgrade both your melee weapon and your ranged weapon, but not your flame attack, or at least not yet in this location.

In terms of how complicated the upgrades are, they aren’t that bad, as you simply go down the skill tree for each weapon by using various parts, and you can eventually make a choice between two upgrades that yes can be swapped between, but you can only have one active at a time, so choose wisely based on how you play the game.
