How to Complete the Mummy and Daddy Quest in Valor Mortis

For a change, Valor Mortis has thrown caution to the wind during Chapter 8, as instead of having a different weapon or ability, a new boss, or numerous lantern rest spots, it instead has 4 different quests that can be found within, and very few rest spots that keep things interesting, just like the side quest Mummy and Daddy, which is one of the final side quests the Shrikes spies will ask you to complete.

How to Complete the Mummy and Daddy Quest in Valor Mortis

During Chapter 8 within Valor Mortis, you will eventually end up in the sewers after finding the third lantern rest spot within said sewers, and this is where you can begin the side quest, Mummy and Daddy.

To continue with this quest, you will first need to follow the sewer pathway down the straight path, taking on numerous enemies and finding quite a few locked doors and locations to explore later, but for now you want to keep heading forward until you reach a divide in the path.

There are two options at this point: you can either follow the path to the left, which takes you down into a small reservoir area with two grenadier enemies lurking within, or you can head to the right, which you need to grapple upwards to access where the pathway is dark, and you need to light the way, which also helps the mice like you.

In order to continue with the quest, you will need to follow the left path and defeat the two grenadier enemies before opening a sealed pathway by using fire on some flesh tendrils. After doing this, you will now have access to the area where the Mummy and Daddy quest can officially continue.

How to Appease “Mummy and Daddy”

Now there are two ways you can complete this quest, but there is only one right way to do it if you want to keep the mice happy. The first way to complete the mission that results in a bad rapport with the mice is by simply killing the two infected people within the cage.

By doing this, you will upset the mice, and the quest will end, causing you to lose their friendship and ultimately affecting sections of the late game.

The proper way to complete this quest is to head to the right of the cage the infected people are in and destroy some boxes that are blocking a small cave you can crouch into that holds a music box.

After you obtain this music box, you will need to head back to the cell and use said music box to appease the infected people so that you can enter the cage and place the cheese on the table before reporting back to the mice, which are conveniently to the left of the cage.

Doing this, as we have said, will benefit you in the long run within Valor Mortis and can even grant you a Tiny Whisker Gift, which provides 3,000 Catalysts to help you level up in the game.
