You won’t get very far into Chapter 6 of Valor Mortis without bumping into the side quest Till Death as well as the boss fight with Anna, The Bride Drowned in Tears, but you might have some trouble completing this quest, so we are here to help guide you in completing said quest and making sure you don’t miss out on the Claymore that is located within this quest.
How to Start the Till Death Quest in Valor Mortis
As we have mentioned above, the way for you to initiate the Till Death quest is to first begin your search by finding the boss fight with Anna, The Bride Drowned in Tears, as she can be found at the beginning of Chapter 6.
Once you defeat this boss, you will now be able to begin the Till Death quest, which starts by going to the altar and interacting with the wreath that is there, which will spawn a memory behind said altar.
During this memory, the bride will begin talking about a ribbon that she has lost that she wished to place upon the altar and that the last place she went to was the church, meaning that to begin your search you will need to head towards the church, but sadly, this won’t be an easy task, as the church is actually the final location in this chapter, meaning you will need to take the long way around.
How to Find the Ribbon and the Claymore in Valor Mortis

Now, to find both of these items, you will first have to explore through the entire level until you get to the church, but this is easier said than done, as this level is quite vast and has a lot to find as you explore it.
For instance, if you want to know more about the bride and what led her to be named Anna, The Bride Drowned in Tears, you will need to search around for different memories that are scattered throughout the chapter, but do not worry if you do not find these memories, as they only add context to the side quest and do not actually impact your goals within said quest.
However, by finding these memories, you will also learn a bit more about what happened to this village, how it impacted the residents, how it became flooded, and why they all are dead and have turned into what they are.

Once you progress far enough and manage to make your way to the church, you will not be greeted by a boss fight, but you will instead be greeted by a bunch of flying enemies that you will need to take down, but don’t be too hasty in defeating them, as one can grab you and bring you to the top of the church to gain some items.
After these enemies are defeated, make your way to both the right and left sides of the church, as there will be a boil on each side that you need to shoot in order to open the door to the church.
Now again, do not worry when you enter the church, as there isn’t a boss fight waiting for you inside; there is instead the Claymore weapon that you can acquire from another dead body, and this weapon is rather special. Unlike the other melee weapons, this is a two-handed weapon that removes the ability to perfect parry but instead provides you with a standard block and even the ability to use both the Stasis and Fire abilities while using the sword, but in a unique way.
The first is by using the fire attack, which sends an arc of fire out from the weapon that demolishes enemies, and the other is where you stab your sword into the floor, creating an area-of-effect slam that provides the Stasis buff to the enemies around you.

After you obtain the Claymore, some enemies will become free from the tendrils around you so you can test out your new weapon, but after this you are free and clear to continue on with the Till Death side quest, which isn’t far now.
As you defeat the enemies in the church, you will be granted access to the graveyard in the back of the church, where you can follow the path around to the right-hand side, where a large grave will be there, and you can find another memory waiting for you.
This memory shows that Anna once loved another and laid her ribbon there to show her love, but now we must take that ribbon away from said grave and place it upon the wreath. To do this, you simply need to head back through the church and exit the same way you came in, which would be through the broken wall, and follow the wall to the right, where, if you haven’t already, you need to clear out the blocked passage to bring you back to the second lantern rest spot before re-emerging in the boss arena where you can place the ribbon.

Although this would normally imply the mission is over, you will be informed by William, the main character, that it doesn’t feel finished and that you will need to return later to bring a form of closure to the situation.
In order to progress with this quest, what you simply need to do is, once you get to this section of the quest, you simply only need to fast travel away from this area and fast travel back to the boss arena, where you will find the wreath has grown and become a more colourful wreath by this time.
